4: Vision, Mission, and Ideology.

(1)      Vision

CCM envisions a prosperous, democratic Kenya that espouses equity, justice and peace. A nation free from: poverty, diseases and ignorance, a respected member of the comity of nations.

(2)      Mission

To improve the quality of life of Kenyans by promoting people-centered democratic governance thereby ensuring equity, economic and political advancement, social justice, freedom, rule of law, peace and human dignity for sustainable prosperity.

(3)      Ideology

Chama Cha Mashinani [CCM] believes in the principles of Devolution, participatory Democracy, cooperative Governance and prudent use of resources.

5: The Character of CCM

(1)      The CCM is a non-discriminative and democratic movement.

(2)      Its policies are determined by the membership and its leadership is accountable to the membership in terms of the procedures laid down in this Constitution.

(3)      The CCM also contests elections as a registered political party drawing its electoral support from all sections of Kenyan society.

(4)      While striving for the maximum unity of purpose and functioning, the   CCM will respect the linguistic, cultural and religious diversity of its members.

(5)      The   CCM will support gender parity, combat sexism and ensure that the voice of women and youth is fully heard in the organization and that women and youth are properly represented at all levels.

(6)      The principles of freedom of speech and free circulation of ideas and information will operate within the CCM.
